Summer Break! Book Two! Reviews!

Hey everyone,

So...I haven't posted for a while. My internet has been dicey at best. Sorry.

Anyway, it's officially summer break in Aurora. I'm off until our new school year starts again at the end of July. I officially have my tent location for A Taste of Colorado...so that's exciting! I've enlisted the help of the very talented Sarah Barth to do my new artwork for the events and to spice up my book cover.

I'm about 70-75% through the rough draft of book two. I'm hoping to finish it during the next four or five weeks.

In addition to the book work, I'll be doing a TON of mountain biking (already gone a couple times with some friends), hiking, camping...it's going to be a great summer!

For now, it seems people are finishing reading the first book. I have a few reviews on amazon.com, but am looking for more! If you've read it, please review it on amazon and goodreads! It means a lot to me. I've had numerous people tell me they've finished and really enjoyed Stanley, but I'm still waiting for them to review it online. Here's hoping!

Thanks again everyone for the support and for picking up a copy of Stanley Finnigan and the Race Around the Universe. And if you haven't gotten a copy either in paperback or on the Kindle...get yours for summer reading!

Edward Bloor on Stanley Finnigan!

Edward Bloor, author of Tangerine and London Calling, had this to say about Stanley Finnigan and the Race Around the Universe:

It's clearly a passion project of [Cuoco's]. I think young readers with an academic bent would enjoy the weird science on the different planets and the philosophical questions raised. Its anti-bullying and acceptance of others themes are always welcome.

If you haven't checked out Tangerine, you should! It's an outstanding mystery with lots of action. I'm still waiting to hear back from some other authors, librarians, teachers, and principals to see what they think of Stanley, too! Keep checking in, and get your copy on amazon.com today!

Stanley Finnigan appearing at A Taste of Colorado!

Hey everyone! Exciting news!

I will have a booth this year at A Taste of Colorado. For those of you that don't know about the event, it takes place on Memorial Day Weekend (August 31-Sept 3). There is live music, food, art, crafts, vendors, rides...all kinds of great stuff for the whole family. I will be selling copies of Stanley Finnigan as well as having many, MANY opportunities to win FREE copies! During the weekend I'll also be revealing more book two information...don't miss out! Come see some great music, check out some awesome local artists and craftspeople, and visit me at my tent to get some sweet free stuff.

Also, I'm waiting on a bunch of reviews from librarians, teachers, principals, and authors. Hopefully those will start rolling in soon. If you have read the book and want to review it, please do so on amazon.com or goodreads.com. If you haven't picked up your copy yet and you're interested...do it! Though quite a number of adults have enjoyed the book, the intended audience is 4-6 grade kids that like humor, adventure, and science fiction.

See you Memorial Day Weekend,

Dan

Brainstorm!

Wow. So first, let me say...I LOVE car rides. I always have. For some reason, there's something about driving that helps me do all of my best thinking in the car. Stanley would be a prime example...I came up with almost the entire plot and scribbled it down on a napkin driving home to my parents' house in Connecticut when I was still living in Baltimore. Most of book two's plot also came to me while driving home from work, as well as the first chapter of book 3, which I also have already written.

The ride home today was incredible. I had one little hangnail in the ending for book two that I figured out, which helps it run into book three...and then...I figured out, in quite a bit of detail, the remaining plot for books three and four. So...I officially have a detailed synopsis for the entire Braderwood series...I just have to write it!

I'm going to type all night and get through some pretty exciting parts in book two.

Other updates...I have a number of authors, librarians, teachers, principals, superintendents, and parents that are currently reading or finishing Stanley. They will be writing reviews soon, so be on the look-out! Have you gotten your copy yet? Pick one up for summer reading!

Get it here.

Check in soon!
